We are Gommu

THE WHY:
Gommu was born in late 2020 as a mother/daughters project. New generations are really aware of the need for great change to work better with our planet. This brand made sense to us from the very beginning, and we walked together learning more every day, finding our way to create the most sustainable toys brand, with these wonderful, natural, and biodegradable toys. We couldn't find this concept anywhere else.

THE NAME:
Gommu means rubber in Japanese. We love this culture, their simple and functional shapes, the aesthetics, the respect for each other, for their ancient heritage, their personal space, and of course for nature and Wabi-sabi, which is a wonderful approach to imperfection. Choosing this name over others made sense to us, they all represent our core values.

THE PRODUCT:
After a long year of research, testing and prototyping, and numerous registrations around the world, we are more than happy to launch this range, the Baby Gommu world, and many complementary accessories. All eco-friendly, soft, easy to chew, and waterproof. Inclusive, diverse, representing all skin colors. Designed in Barcelona. Manufactured in Spain and Morocco.

THE GOALS:
To do something better for our children and to do something better for our planet. To play and learn with toys that are friendly to their future Earth. To help them with their emotional, sensory, and cognitive development.

THE STORAGE:
Direct sun or heat could damage the toys. It’s always better to store them in a dry space.

THE PACKAGING:
We do not use any new plastics and try to limit the use of recycled ones. All our papers and cartons are FSC certified, and as far as possible, recycled.

THE CLEANING:
Any Gommu product can be washed with soap and water. For +0 products, you can sterilize them in boiling water for 1 minute. If you notice that they have become faded white, you can try to remove it with a cotton pad with alcohol and then rinse in water.

THE MATERIAL:
Our natural rubber products are made from the white sap of the Hevea Brasiliensis tree, 100% biodegradable, produced through a green production process. All handmade, so each piece is unique, very soft, safe, and hermetically sealed. The food-grade paint used in the production is 100% safe and natural. It is also free from petrol, PVC, and BPA. It is waterproof and easy to clean. These attributes will be a must for every product joining this family in the future.
